HECKFIELD TREE HUNT

The Pleasure Grounds and the Estate are the biggest playgrounds. Make sure you get straight out there and discover the natural treasures right on our doorstep.

EXPLORE HECKFIELD ON ONE OF OUR TRICYCLES

You’ll find our tricycles at the front of the House – just ask one of our Guest Assistants if you’d like to borrow one. For older children, we have children’s bikes you can borrow too.

GO SKIPPING

Borrow one of our skipping ropes (made from Chatham Hemp and the handles are reclaimed cotton bobbins from a Cotton Mill in Yorkshire) and experience the benefits of skipping.

FLOWER WORKSHOP

Spend time with our in-house florist creating a bouquet using produce and flowers from the estate.

60-minute workshop – £50 per child

MAKE A FLORAL CROWN

Create your own special floral crown alongside our in-house florist.

80-minute workshop – £60 per child

WOODWORKING KIT

Ask one of our Guest Assistants for a woodworking kit. Perfect for ages 5-12, these kits are easy-to-make creative woodworking projects for you to work at on your own with the supervision of a parent. Choose from a Cheeky Chick, Mighty Moo or create your own Crazy Animal.

HECKFIELD GAMES

Immerse yourself in the Great Outdoors to try out Heckfield games. These games (suitable for children aged 5-11 years) are fun, challenging and can be enjoyed by all the family.

30-minute session – £50 for up to two children

60-minute session – £100 for up to two children

WILLOW WORKSHOP

Embrace your creativity and try your hand at willow weaving. Using locally grown willow, make either a willow star or a willow bird feeder.
60-minute workshop – £85 for two children (Please book at least one week in advance)

WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY

Do you have an interest in photography and a curiosity in the world around you? Would you like to grasp some fundamental principles and techniques in photography? This private tuition session, suitable for children aged 13 and above is aimed at doing just that and will lead to you feeling more inspired and confident in taking photos that you will love.

2 hour 1:1 session – £270. Additional participant – £60 (Please book at least one week in advance – at which time a 50% deposit will be taken). Children must be accompanied by an adult.

FARM / MARKET GARDEN TOUR

Book a tour with one of our experts to visit our chickens, pigs, sheep and discover the dairy that produces all the milk used in the house. Or feel free to explore at your leisure with an adult.

IF YOU FANCY VENTURING OFF THE ESTATE:

WELLINGTON COUNTRY PARK

We neighbour the Wellington Country Park, 350 acres of beautiful park land with myriad children’s play areas, nature trails, zip wires. Visit for an hour or a day and keep your small people very happy.
