AFTERNOON TEA

Our complimentary afternoon tea and beautiful cake are served in the Drawing Room between 4.00 pm & 5.00 pm.

AIR CONDITIONING & HEATING

The House has a heating and cooling system. The dial-in your room can lower or raise the temperature.

DRINKING WATER

Bottled water is provided in your room and will be replenished daily.

DOGS

Are allowed in certain designated rooms, with prior approval. Please ensure that you clear up after your dog and keep them under control at all times. Please do not take them into any dining areas.

ELECTRICAL VOLTAGE

The voltage supply is 220V/50 cycles. A 110V socket is provided for shaving.

An international adaptor is available in your desk drawer. If you need more, please ask your guest assistant.

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

In case of emergency, please dial 3000. A fire extinguisher is located in your Suite. A smoke detector is located in the ceiling.

UK CURRENCY

UK’s currency is the Pound. ATMs and Banks are available in the local village, while currency exchange and cash advance is available in hotel. Please ask your Guest Assistant.

FIRE

In the event of fire, please vacate the building to the Circus Maximus the large lawn next to the Upper walled garden to the north of the Hotel. Fire extinguishers are located all around the property.

GYM

The Gym is operated by Bodyism and is located in the Keepers Cottage in the Upper Walled Garden. It is open from 7.30 am to 9.00 pm.

HEALTH

We have a general physician on 24 hour call, if needed. We keep a small first aid box for minor ailments, and the nearest A&E Hospital is located in Reading.

LAUNDRY

Please place your dirty clothes in the laundry basket you will find in your bathroom. Our Housekeeping team will be happy to itemize your laundry for you. Our laundry is done outside of the House, and is an overnight service (except on a Sunday). If you have any urgent items, please inform your Guest Assistant, and we will endeavor to arrange this. We suggest you keep any expensive items to be laundered or dry cleaned at home. Please identify the items for dry cleaning to your guest assistant.

SAFETY DEPOSIT BOX

This is located inside the cupboard drawer and comes with simple instructions. We request you to keep your valuables in it during your stay.

SPA

The Spa is located on the Ground floor of the Corridors and is open from 11 noon until 7.00 pm. The menu is in this Compendium listing.

SETTLEMENT OF ACCOUNT

Heckfield Place accepts major credit cards and travellers cheques. Payment can be made in Pound Sterling. A copy of your account will be placed in your room on the evening before departure.

SMOKING

Smoking is allowed in the Garden, on the Terrace of your room if you have one and around the Estate. Please refrain from smoking inside the House and be aware of a very sensitive smoke detection system throughout the building. Please be respectful of other guests spaces and pick up all cigarette stubs and dispose carefully.

Our Bang & Olufsen TVs are controlled by the remote control. Please press TV to turn on, and the red dot button to turn it off. Your television is equipped with Sky and Apple TV, which can be operated by the named buttons directly from the remote control

FIRE

In the event of a fire, the hotel staff will inform you if evacuation is necessary.

If a fire starts in your room, inform the Guest Assistant on Extension 3000 if you are not in any immediate danger.

Try to contain the fire by closing doors and windows

A fire extinguisher is located in the corridors and hallway.

Leave the area and assemble at the Muster point on the Circus Maximus lawn next to the Walled Garden to the north of the House.

It is important that people gather at is point, as it is our way of ensuring that everyone is safe and accounted for, before we plan the next step, dependent on the situation.
